Is the game playable yet? for me I can't get red of the good old spike syndrome,yet some people claim that it's (playable with minor issues)..Even if considering polygons a minor problem,I still can't pass the first boss (the very classic problems,you know).My version is SCUS_973.99.
Question is is there any progress I'm missing?

Just use latest playground and in gamefixes tick VU clip hack
