coldReacive, its an Issue 184 http://code.google.com/p/pcsx2/issues/de...%20Summary

It's written that software mode is ok but actually it doesn't. Later in cutscene colors are completely messed up. So hardware mode is a "wontfix"... what about sw, Gabest? Here's .gs dump:

http://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=20016

Please, Gabest say something about it. If software mode can't be fixed just say it. This is my third post about this issue. I'm tired a little Tongue
I'm having a slight issue with Gundam Seed Destiny Generation of CE (NTSC-J) specifically with the 8-bit textures option. This is the only game I have this problem with (see images below). I also have 2 other bugs I'ved noticed as well with this game...

PC Specs:
Athlon 2x @ 2.3ghz
4GB Ram
ATI HD3850

Emulator:
1474 Beta
GSDX 1398/1476/1553

Bug 1, This is the 8-bit texture bug. I don't have any problems like this in any other game I've tried.

Picture 1: How the game looks with 8-bit textures off. This is how the game is supposed to look (sans the couple of lines going through the background)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/K...colors.jpg

Picture 2: This is how the game looks with 8-bit textures on, notice the incorrect colors on the japanese text at the top of the screen

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/K...ground.jpg

Picture 3: Again, this is how the background behind the character is supposed to look (with 8-bit textures off)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/K...ground.jpg

Picture 4: With it on, there is that obtrusive white background that sometimes flickers

This is the second bug I found in this game. This bug is only present in newer versions of the plugin (beyond 1398)

Picture 5: This is what the attack menu is supposed to look like

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/K...enubad.jpg

Picture 6: This is what it looks like in any version beyond 1398

Attached is the GS files for both situations.

Note that both graphic glitches are apparent no matter what settings I use in PCSX2.

I hope I gave all the information and everything needed to help out. Whether these are fixed or not, everyone involved in this project has done wonderful work and I truly appreciate everything that's been done so far.

(edit) seems I forgot to mention the other bug though it can be clearly seen in the first 2 pictures... There are lines going down the background and this bug is in all versions of gsdx I've tested.
awww lost the extra speed I got in 1553 vc10 with the new vc10, guess it was a bug only :P
hm, just changed one line that fixed sw mode (GSTextureCacheSW.cpp), that's the only difference between 1553m and the latest.

Animus:

Somehow the palette is wrong. Did you reload a state saved in hw mode? Is it looking the same when you run it in sw mode from the beginning and only load saves from the memcard?
Yeah it looks the same in sw from the very beginning of the game (without loading savestate)
Here's another cutscene in sw:
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/2356/xeno3sw.jpg
Tried with older revisions of gsdx in both dx10 and dx9. No changes.

Btw there's another weird issue with this game:

1564 fixed SW mode for me and no speed decrease noticed.

Now SW mode causes my entire WinXP system to freeze up on Xenosaga III randomly using the VC10 download for 1564.

Urgh, nevermind, issue with another program, sorry.
Bug Report:

1553m
PCSX1474
FF-XII

I found this bug, it doesnt bother me actually...
save states that created with 8Bit turned on, wont load just show black screen or frozen screen.

Save states from earlier version will load fine

turning off this feature solves the issue
hm, odd. tried it myself, savestates work just fine on my rig with r1553m and "allow 8-bit textures" enabled. our systems are quite similar, so, which version of the game do you have? mine is the ger-pal sles_543.56 crc dc2a467e. any errors/warnings in the console when it stays black/freezes? and a .gs snap of such a black/frozen screen could probably help.
SHIFT+F8 doesn't put anything into the snap folder for me btw.

Grandia III will crash at times with software gsdx enabled.
