So, I should report this somewhere else?
Wait a second. Is there really exist GSDX plugin version with DX11 renderer version ? I just confused a little with latest posts 8P
Gsdx does support Directx 11 since Windows 7 uses it but there are currently no Dx11 video cards out but they will be sometime before Windows 7 is officially released in October, so even if you can use the Dx11 option there will not be any benefit from it right now.
While i'm on here, I was hoping someone might have an idea for a solution. I doubt this is for this thread but i've noticed many others mentioning it so I suppose i might as well. Every PS2 game i've made an ISO of works great using the Gsdx plugin but one ps2 game just simply acts weird, Final Fantasy X-2. The FMVs play ok and then the fps drops off some but also when just running around it sometimes drops the fps down to 50-54 fps just enough to hear the sound lag, this mostly happens around the bridge of the ship. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
I heard that DX10.1 cards will get performance increases with DX11, since DX11 uses the stuff from DX10.1

Fortunately there are plugins like this one, GSdx but unfortunately Pcsx2 still doesn't even begin to utilize cpu power. I'm using an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 cpu and it averages around 25-28% cpu usage in windows from running pcsx2. If only the program would use more of that waste cpu power or for that matter more gpu power as well. I just use pcsx2 because most ps2 games look reasonably better on a pc through an emulator. It's amazing that the software companies are so far behind when it comes to anything pc gaming related. Most of the high end video cards are not even needed to play most pc games at their maximum quality settings and most games barely use 30% cpu usage of a quad core cpu.

I've seen that thing happen sometime ago but software didnt have the same problem for me, it also does only happen in one other place in the entire game so it's not really a big deal anyway.

If it uses more than 25% (on a quadcore), it means that it uses one core fully, and another core partially. Given that it's practically impossible to parallelize the PS2 emulation, this is a very good achievement, and not something that could be improved.
As for GPU, AFAIK, the main problem is copying the data between GPU RAM and system RAM, which is slow, and which is why some games work faster with software rendering.
I think this PS2 emulation has gone very good overall but it is unfortunate that there are still limitations and they aren't just limited to pcsx2. The only thing that i've seen that will actually use all four cores of the processor are video encoding programs. I know what can be done with this emulator and its plugins will be limited but it does seem to still be going well. As far as performance goes, some ps2 games actually get lags on a real ps2 so i guess some things can't be perfectly emulated. It just bothers me sometimes that final fantasy x-2 has some lag where it shouldn't really but yet a game like dragonball z budokai tenkaichi 3 which may not have as much to render, it has a much faster pace and i'd think should require more work but it runs flawlessly.

I just checked and I can see that in software mode too. For me this is a big deal, I don't see the reason why this shouldn't be fixed. But if this is official position... well, I understand. Thanks for having time to answer.
All you can really do is adjust settings until FF X-2 looks right. In my experience with FF X-2 with Pcsx2, it seems the FMVs are best in software mode and the regular part of the game best in hardware mode, visually and performance based. It's still odd that X-2 has issues but X is flawless and some might think its' because X is older but i've played newer 2008 and 2009 ps2 games with pcsx2 and they had no issues. X-2 is very picky with the emulator so you just have to mess around until it's how you want it.
