Xenosaga 2/3 with D3D10/11 has alpha problems with shadows while D3D9 does not.
that's due to the way how the GS calls are converted into directX calls.
For DX9, gabest used workarounds to get effects working how they should.
For DX10/11, he used other methods because it provides more features.
I've no clue how software DX9 manages to look different than software DX10, really.
I need help, I have the 2096 version, I have a dvd, what happens is that when I run it, an error message appears on GS DIRECTX Departed, which asks me to date because it hize but like nothing happens, I also read I should have ZERO GS, but really do not understand anything, which is that only I get the DirectX error message, what should I do??

Do you mean you want a screenshot of both settings? Sure I'll see what I can do. By any chance does anyone know a freeze frame function with pcsx2?
Oh and playing final fantasy x

Some games benefit from DX10/11, some don't.
There are games which are using techniques which are faster on DX11.
And it's also scene dependent.
Some scenes in some games can slow down on DX9.
The Mihen Highroad in Final Fantasy X for example.
So if you have the capability of using DX10 or 11, use it.
But there are some exceptions, on old GFX cards like GeForce 8600 f.e., DX9 can be faster than DX10.
Interesting....I'll be sure to take notice of that when I get there. Speed hasnt been a issue yet. Been averaging 59frames all the time.
In relation to FFX, how does DX9 compare to DX10/11? Is it one of the exceptions where DX9 is better?
DX10/11 is better for FFX.
DX9 slows down when I'm in the south of the Mihen Highroad (The spot when you leave Luca) on my GT540M.
Heres a PNG of the comparision of DX9 vs DX10/11

Trying to push through to that area as we speak.
Hmmm... that most certainly shouldn't be happening... Maybe it's a driver issue? Try updating to the latest nvidia graphics drivers, restore default settings in the nvidia control panel and giving DX10/11 another shot.
I made sure all drivers were updated before installing pcsx2, However it seems that the latest drivers contained some sort of bug. nVidia is trying to resolve it as we speak.
incase anyone else is having trouble with nvidia cards

there is no such bug. the flaw is hardware that has voltages to low for the clock domain switching mechanism (falls back on subvendors releasing bios updates)
