But.. it wasn't exactly part of the GSdx IIRC, it was PCSX2 option.
I just ment that GSdx still fully supports it, for example when you first run fresh pcsx2 install and press Config on GSdx, there's a small bug where pcsx2 version isn't detected while plugin is initialized and it'll actually show old gui once with option to choose fullscreen resolution etc. through it'll not do anything unless ran on build that still had the removed function.

haha I always wonder about why it did that, Not that it ever did anything. This actual is old ass bug, not that it maters

r5758 is the current unofficial release using svn. Since r5752 there were no changes to the gs-plugin. Therefore you have the newest version.
