I am having problems with the GS plugin. I have windows 8, and it was working when i first got the emulator. I have since had to do a system restore for unrelated reasons. Now I keep getting "You need to update DirectX" and I can't because windows 8 updates that automatically. All updates are full and up to date. Prior to system restore, I had the .98 version. Since that doesn't work anymore, I grabbed 1.21 today. Still doesn't work. Still wants me to update Direct x. I don't get it, i've read some of the guides, and I'm just confused at this point.
I have downloaded that. It says "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid." I have tried researching this via microsoft support and microsoft offers like NO help for windows 8 ppl having trouble with direct x because they're just like "Dude it comes with it you're fine."
Update: I installed a steam game that forced direct x to update and now it works.
@Exileman That happened to me too when I wanted to update to DirectX 9 long ago, if that happens just download from another site.
I FOUND A SOLUTION TO THE RECORDING PROBLEM!!!
Apparently when you press Browse and choose the directory along with the file extension, the directory box (the place near the Browse... button) does not add an extension to it. For example, say I wanna save a file in C:\PCSX2\Videos and I name the file TEST and choose the .avi extension, when I click OK the box will say C:\PCSX2\Videos\TEST without the avi extension. So to solve it just manually type the extension (but make sure that the mode is uncompressed for .avi files, etc.).
I have a problem when configuring the program.
First i get the notice that "i need to update some directx libraries" i checked with dxdiag and i have directx11
so i skip it and continue. then the next message pops up:
"The selected GS plugin failed to load.
Reason: the plugin reports that your hardware or software/drivers are not supported
C://Users/.../pscx2/1.0.0/plugins/gsdx32-avx-r5350.dll"
I have Intel Core i3 notebook
2 gb Ram
win 7
The intriguing thing is that i recently formatted my pc and before that it worked just fine.
That's probably because you haven't put Windows 7 Service Pack 1 on yet. You need it for AVX support

I think it is on. i go to pc(properties) and within the specs there's service pack 1
Besides, it's not only the axv one that's not wroking. even with the sse2,sse3,etc have the same problem.
