Sims 2 freezes during gameplay, sometimes even emulator crashes. help

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.

• Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  
• The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  
• Any non default settings you are using.
  
• What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

4Gb DDR3 RAM
1Gb Ati Radeon 6770M
Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
P.S : Its a laptop.
PCSX2 v1.0
All settings are default i guess.
Playing games from DVD it even happens in ISO tho.
Playing Tekken 5 and Sims 2 for now.
Tekken 5 runs fine but there are frequent fps dips at certain times.

does it freeze when you do certain things? Does it display any messages in the console? have you tried changing any settings? Are you using any speed hacks?
