I just downloaded the one in Gabest's post, and it STILL won't work
NOT the one that was linked in Gabest post. You need to update DX through the web updater. If it doesn't work, then bad luck.

Did you do the checklist already? Here's what you need:
-Windows Vista
-VGA card with dx10 support, that means Geforce 8 and higher, or ATI HD2xxx and higher
-Updated DirectX runtimes
