I am trying to play Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks on my laptop.
Since I am not a programmer, I need help in using patches/fixes.
I downloaded the pnach file from
here and added it to the cheats folder in PCSX2.
But still, I have to use
this fix because it fixes lots of bugs according to the report. Please help me to apply this fix.
One more thing is that my game lags a lot. How do I fix this?
Here are my laptop specs:
Dell XPS 15
6gb ram
Intel® Core i5-240M CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50GHz
64-bit windows 7 home premium.
Nvidia Geforce GT 540M
Thanks in advance!
Okay, I downloaded the Revision 5477 and copied the files into my PCSX2 directly and overwrote the existing files. I then started PCSX2 again but the problem still persists. The bad lighting as seen
here. Also, the lag problem still persists. Are my system specs not good enough for this game? And why is the bug not fixed?
Edit: The cutscene at the beginning of the game runs smooth with no lags, so I don't think my laptop to be of low specs to run this game. Once the actual game starts, the lighting bug and lags start. Please help.
Thank you for replying.

wrong.
Fmvs may be rendered very easily on weak machines.
About the bug, I read in the google code report that it still needs to be tested.
did you try to hit F9 ingame ?

Nice, this fixed the lighting bug and other bugs too, if any, I hope. Thanks a lot
But the game still lags(not the kind of lag that occurs when we play PC games, but the game kind of runs in slow motion which I call lag.)

Now, since the bug is fixed, I don't have to hit F9 ingame but thanks anyway.

I am surprised because I was able to play GTA4 and call of Duty MW3 in fairly high settings smoothly in my system. I thought 6gb ram, i5 processor, GT 540M were good enough to run the game smooth.
Is there any tweaks I could do to increase the fps?

hem.
GTA4 & Cod MW3 are NOT emulated games.
comparing them to emulated games is a complete nonsense.
You can lower gsdx internal res, and use recommended speedhacks.
Then try increasing step by step ee cycle rate then vu cycle stealing to see if it improves things.

idk which one i should download.there are many of different types. for example v1.3.1-1347-g59be6c8 or v1.3.1-1346-gf1fc9dc for revisions and one of them is gsdx and the other merge in commit log.and how should i install it?
and does it really work and fixes the bugs for all games or just for shaolin?
Maybe because you're replying to a 3 year old post -_- Download the first one from the list and give it a try.
