Why not have an option to reinitialize(reload) the video plugin on video overlay playback start in games?

It would, for example, rid of video cutscenes flickering and being inappropriately stretched at screen border in FFX. Reloading it manually every time a cutscene kicks in through ESC→System→Resume or F9→F9 is a pain in the arse.
You could tick the gamefix that says "switch to software mode for fmvs", thatll do exactly that

1. Not exactly. Hardware mode works perfectly if reloaded after the fmv starts. It could be done w/o reverting to software mode. I can record a video for you demonstrating it if needed.

2. I found no such tickbox. The one ticked doesn't do the trick. (Latest stable version 1.0.0)

You must have an older version. It should be the very last option on the page right after the Hotwheels one. Hell even my version is of an older one and it has it. Make sure you ahve the latest version of the emulator.

Should I use nightly builds?

you need to download the svn revision which you can get from here: http://pcsx2.net/download/development/svn.html

Can I ask how stable are those?
pretty stable tbh, there might be the odd bug, but overall its not bad. you don't have to overwrite the 1.0.0 release, they have seperate names so you can run them in parallel

Thanks alot.

P.S.
I remember using 4xxx svn build prior to 1.0.0
You guys work at incredible pace for such a project!
Real great job with development, mighty thanks!

P.P.S.
Why don't you place the SVN builds at the general download page then...
