I will admit up front that this was probably just luck and will not work for everyone but it worked for me so I figured I would share it.
I was playing DQ 8 (U) and was fighting Rank S in the monster arena (which can be a PITA) so I figured I would use a savestate and just load it if things didnt go my way.
I loaded it a few times and eventually gave up (i did NOT reset the game, so I am still in a loaded savestate). I tried to save to my mem card later but when I pressed X to save to the mem card, it said the card was corrupted (which I knew wasnt true). On accident I pressed the L2 button at the save screen and it actually correctly read the mem card so I could save. I couldnt believe it.
Fluke? Absolutely!
But that fluke saves me 2 hours of gameplay
