Hey everyone! I have some issues regarding Wipeout Fusion and its framerate. I'm playing Wipeout on my laptop (Yeah yeah, I know the emulator doesn't play nice with laptops) and it's very inconsistent and will fluctuate from 60 to a choppy 30FPS (And Wipeout isn't really Wipeout at 30fps). I've tried the speedhacks and those sorta do the trick but only for about 5 seconds then the game goes into Lag City. So is there anything I can do to get a fast, consistent fps or am I doomed forever?

Specs:
-Lenovo Ideapad Y510p
-Processor: 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
-OS: Windows 8.1 64bit
-NVIDIA GeForce GT755M (SLI) GDDR5 2GB

Make sure you play from an ISO and not directly from the disk.

Also make sure your laptop's power plan is set to performance and that it's plugged in while playing.

I already do all that by default. If it means anything, I'm using GSdx 5875 (MSVC 18.00, SSE41) 0.1.16. I've got the renderer set to Direct3d11 (Hardware), no interlacing, native PS2 resolution, texture filtering, and 8-bit textures on. I've also disabled Framelimiting and have Frameskipping disabled.

*sigh* Guess I'll be playing Thunder Force IV instead.

Try enabling the MTVU speedhack.

What are your EE and VU percentages when a slowdown occurs? It's shown in the title bar when in widowed mode.

Yep, got it enabled. While enabled, EE is around 80% while the VU would hit 90%-100%. During a race, the EE is usually around 80% but the VU is never that high, usually it'll be around 60%-70% while lag free.
some tracks in the game use that animated billboard textures that are decoded by the IPU. those are tighly synced and run on the EE. this is a lil demand for some Ghz. it's just like that. but your cpu should actually make that run.

does the SLI mode influence it perhaps? i have no experience with SLI. are both gpus selectable as devices? are they equally fast PCI? i'm not sure this is not a transfer glitch. Huh

is the graphics driver uptodate?
I didn't notice the SLI. PCSX2 hates it.

Graphics drivers are up-to-date. And I usually leave the SLIs on for my other PC games. I turned it off to see what happens and I don't notice any significant changes. It lags a little less but it's still very inconsistent.
yeh. it needs some lil more Ghz to run faster. the MTVU doesn't help alot. it's depending on all sorts of syncronizing temporary data for rendering. the faster the cpu the faster it is in sync and ready to render. it's just how that game engine works and can be emulated.
I wouldnt worry too much about the speed of the CPU since it goes up pretty high with TC, also make sure you keep it well ventilated so it remains high for longer (and drops less to get cooler).

From benchmarks it seems on par with a 2nd/3rd gen i5 quad.
