So, the USB gamepad shows up in Lilypad and I can configure everything including the buttons, but when the game launches, I can select up and down and the start button works, but the buttons don't respond at all. Any help?

What gamepad are you using?

Generic gamepad. It works with most games and it does respond in lilypad when I'm setting up, so I know it works. But it's just a generic USB pad with two analog sticks like the ps3 dual shock.

Can I see a screenshot of all your Lilipad settings?
What game are you tryna play?
If it has a little button on it saying something like analog then press it.

Tried the analog button
I'm attempting to play MGS 3 Subsistence. Again, I got the sticks to work, but the face buttons do nothing. I'll take a screen shot of my settings.
Thanks muchly for your help.
untick xinput option since you said you have a generic controller.
if it doesn't work, try another input API (such as Raw)
Ok so none of this has worked so far. DOes anyone have any ideas?
