System:
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2160 @2.75Ghz

Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines

SLUS-20799 NTSC US

According to the official compatibility rating on pcsx2.net, the game is Playable, i.e. it can be played from start to end. I just finished it. However, the FPS is very low and thus everything is slow - especially moving and weapons changing. FPS varies from 14 to 20 and only occasionally goes up to 30. I wonder if better PC (stronger CPU) could run the game faster?

my PC:
AMD Athlon X2 7850 2.8GHz
ATI Radeon HD 3200
onboard sound
RAM 2GB
WinXP SP2

PCSX2 configuration:
* PCSX2 beta 1474
* BIOS 2.0 Europe or 2.0 USA (no visible difference)
* GSdx 1553, renderer hardware, no interlacing, native internal res.
* PEOpS SPU2 1.9.0 - the only working sound plugin. Unlike the others (SPU2-X, ZeroSPU2) this one ignores the low FPS and plays the sounds and voices at normal speed.
* LilyPad 1388 - This plugin is absolutely perfect, works with mouse, keyboard and gamepad, no further improvements needed.
* Linuz ISO or Gigaherz's CDVD
* no speed hacks - they have no impact on FPS and cause graphical oddities; VU Cycle Stealing actually affects FPS, but the game runs smoother without it

notes:

a) audio - Sounds and voices play at normal speed with PEOpS SPU2, but since the video is much slower than video, some sounds and voices are repeated to fill the gap. Other sound plugins decrease sound speed to match video speed.

b) video - Except the low FPS, the only graphical error is visible during wrestling fights with T-X: both characters have a strange "shadow" which makes them look like puppets on sticks (pic 6).

c) menu, ingame movie videos (pic 1, 3) and CG videos (pic 5) - Everything plays at normal speed, acceptable sound.

d) crashes - Actually there were only two crashes. Both of them occured when I wanted to open a map screen - picture freezes and it is necessary to close PCSX2. If I remember right, I was just switching from one weapon to another and tried to access the map simultsaneously. Maybe that is why it crashed. And, with some configurations, the program will crash when you press Play Terminator Redemption demo button, which is in Menu, Special Features section.

e) personal note - I REALLY wanted to play this game because it is not available for PC. The characters look exactly the same as the original actors (+ voices), the game shows things not seen in the movie (or alternate versions) and you can unlock 3 exclusive B-roll videos. If you are a Terminator fan, you should try it. Otherwise you will probably suffer from the low FPS too much.

prone to the occasional crash but all 3 games are fully completable. Also, one particular cut scene in Mugen Kairou no Kagi seems to crash whenever it's run, but hitting start skips scenes so no worries... It could be my ISO rather than the cut scene but I can't be bothered making a new ISO since the game is completable

Fully playable except minor bug in final battle with Vizier. After you kill Vizier clone he can make new clone only if you use "Recall" sand power.

SPU2-X 1.2.0
Linuz Iso CDVD 0.9.0

System specs:
Geforce 8800GS 320mb
Core2 Duo E8500 @3.16ghz
2GB DDR2 ram
Win Vista 32

Comments - fully playable, fps was >120 when I wasn't recording with FRAPS. I don't know if it's an emu bug or just the way the game makes bloom effects, but there's a weird double vision thing going on. Doesn't look bad at all though.

Pcsx2 0.9.6 r1736 - Okami

Plugins:
GSdx 1650 SSE41 0.1.15
SPU2-X 1.2.0
Linuz Iso CDVD 0.9.0

Settings:

Core2 Duo E8500 @3.16ghz
2GB DDR2 ram
Win Vista 32

Comments: When I tested this on the 0.9.6 official build, it displayed some black geometry. The beta has this fixed. I don't recall any graphical weirdness or glitchyness, so this is possibly perfect (Edit: celestial canvas is still not displaying) .On PAL50 it performed at about 60fps unlimited.

[quote]CPU - microVU0 & microVU1 both ON but not necessary.[/qupte]

They are necessary, those are what fixed the black geometry in distance missing bug Wink
Okami is also missing post processing effects that make it look like a painting on the PS2, Gabest has disabled them via CRC on the GSdx code to prevent extreme slowdowns

Oh I see, so I guess the canvas is linked in some way then? TBH I couldn't remember how it looked on PS2. Even without PP effects it sure is pretty on pcsx.

Pcsx2 0.9.6 r1736 - Odin Sphere

Comments: Flawless I guess. On NTSC60, unlimited FPS is ~100, with lows at 60-65 in intense battle zones. There's some spluttering in the video cause of obvious reasons, fraps and disk reading.
