Glitch

NOTES:
- Enabling MSAA makes PCSX2 crash. (Perhaps a known issue, maybe with this revision of GSdx or with 2D games in general?)

- During Phase 5, after singing with Frelia in an anime cutscene, and after the quick talking, the game was supposed to load to the world map but froze on the load screen. Apparently the only thing you can do is load from the memory card (not a save state) and try again until it loads properly, which it did for me on my second try.

- There is a glitch where walking into the corner of a treasure chest makes the character zoom straight through the floor. Simply walking away from the chest makes it go back to normal, and you can see this in the Youtube video above.

- When using hardware mode with GSdx, the world map is all messed up, half of it not apearing (not needed to be able to navigate anyway). The problem isn't existant in software mode. You can see this in the first two picture attachments.

- A lot of times, at the start of some dialogue, the face of the character on the right will have a block missing. The face goes normal when the character's expression changes, and the problem occurs no matter what settings you have. You can see this in the third picture attachment.

FF12 Undub using PCSX2 version 0.9.8.r4600

Watch it in full screen in 720p!

Watch it in full screen in 720p!

Sandybridge still amazes me. I need to buy a better graphics card to compliment it properly.

- HARDWARE -
Processor: Intel core i5-2500k
Video Card: GeForce GTX 460
RAM: 4GB Corsair XMS DDR3
Storage: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB

- SOFTWARE-
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Emulator: PCSX2 0.9.8.r4600 (no speedhacks except INTC Spin Detection)
Game: Final Fantasy 12 NTSC-U (Undubbed version)
Screen Capture Software: Fraps v3.2.7

When not recording, the game runs flawlessly at 60 FPS (160-400 FPS without the limiter), 2x scaling, at 1600x900 resolution on stock frequencies.

EDIT: In case anyone is wondering, that's the undub version of FF12.
Burnout 2

Running on speed about 45-50 fps. Graphic errors: some textures are broken.

Edit by Refraction: The textures are fixed by setting the VU Roundmode to negative (iirc)
Valkyrie Profile 2

Playable!
Ingame - there are some graphical errors / glitches in the game ... such as going into the ancient forest area, it is almost impossible to see anything... need to run under software mode for that. some weird glitch in the first screen area of serdberg mountains as well.

Machine specs:

- Intel i7 950 - OC'ed to 3.5ghz
- 8GB ripjaws ram
- 2 1tb wd caviar black, raid 0
- evga Geforce 560Ti superclocked
- running through iso

Post your PCSX2 Configuration

* PCSX2 0.9.8
* PCSX2 core settings - default, except for dx11 hardware, 4x native resolution mode
* Plugins used - default
* have the alphahack=1 on in the gsdx.ini file to eliminate the weird black vertical lines during cutscenes / battles

here is a video I capped with 6x native resolution mode, of course youtube compresses the file like crazy so obviously the original file looks much better.

I also do not know how to capture the sound with it ... I've checked for the separate sound file, but it doesn't not appear to be in the directory ...
Alright, time to show my screenshots.

My PCSX2 Configuration:
  • Version 0.9.8 (r4600)
  • GS: GSdx 4600 (MSVC 15.00, SSE41) 0.1.16 [gsdx-sse4-r4600]
  • PAD: LilyPad svn (r4510) 0.10.0 [lilypad-r4600]
  • PSU2: SPU2-X r4600m 1.4.0 [spu2-x-r4600]
  • CDVD: cdvdGigaherz (r4510) 0.8.0 [cdvdGigaherz]
  • USB: USBnull Driver 0.7.0 [USBnull]
  • FW: FWnull Driver 0.7.0 [FWnull]
  • DEV9: DEV9null Driver 0.5.0 [DEV9null]

Basically, I've used all of the default plugins with their default settings, with the exception of the GS plugin obviously.
For the GS one, I use Direct3D11 (Hardware) as Renderer, Weave bff (saw-tooth) as Interlacing and Texture Filtering checked. Resolution is Full HD (1920 x 1080) to fit my screen, which is Full HD as well.

My Computer:
  • Windows 7 Professional
  • Intel Core i7 2600 - 3.40GHz
  • AMD Radeon HD 6870 with 1 GB VRAM
  • 6 GB RAM

To test things out first, I've played games that are known to be well-compatible. Aside from everyone's favorite Final Fantasy X (International), I also tried out Tales of the Abyss (US Version).
