So, not that I'd like to clutter
Or stop gregory from fulfilling his xz dreams

But zstd seems pretty cool.
Finding this very interesting, thanks for the tips. I think I'm going to go down the maxcso road. My PS2 iso's are all zipped. Is there a bat file I can use on maxcso to decompress, convert and delete the original file?
I compressed my entire library using pigz -11 (zopfli). Works great in Windows, but does not work at all in Linux. Nothing appears wrong in the log, but it just sits at a black screen with speed at 0%.

OK: Gzip quick access index read from disk: '/mnt/storage/emulation/roms/ps2/7 Sins (Europe).gz.pindex.tmp'
isoFile open ok: /mnt/storage/emulation/roms/ps2/7 Sins (Europe).gz
Image type = CD
* CDVD Disk Open: CD, 1 tracks (1 to 1):
* * Track 1: Data (Mode 1) (237460 sectors)

If I decompress and load the bin directly, it works fine.

*edit* Upgrading to 1.5.0-0 dev build fixed the problem.
