I tried playing Silent Hill 2 earlier today and no matter what settings I changed, I still had the same problem. The game would work just fine but if I tried to move anywhere in the first room, I'd get a black screen. I could still head back to the sink, but I wouldn't be able to see anything if I wasn't in front of the sink.
far from a bug report.
moved to general discussion.

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
  • Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  • The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  • Any non default settings you are using.
  • What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

Thank You.
And are you using cheats by any chance?

Some cheats caused that issue where you get stuck in the first room. If you're using any; disable them.

Did you patch your game with something ? What this "2.01" stand for ?

This crc seems to be the correct one for greatest hits edition of Silent Hill 2 (at least somebody in the forum said that). But who knows if that re-release works as the original version...

some, intel Igpu's cause the black screen issue but, sw mode will fix it (or) you can try using hw mode to play the game @ 0.9.8 since, the black screen issue for igpu when using sw mode was produced after the revs from 0.9.8.

I'm not sure what that 2.01 stands for, that was just the only version available on the website I visited. Should I try another Iso?
