i am running the latest version of pcsx2 and every time i play game the fps varies from 20-50 but no steady fps. causing the games and audio to slow down. i am running it on an hp laptop with windows 8.1. what can i do to make the games run smoothly?

Please post your specs (CPU, Graphics Card, RAM), and the version of PCSX2 you are using, and also what settings you used.
Edit: Sorry about that, my keyboard lost it's mind an executed a mod tool.
Anyway, what is your hardware specifically? Sounds like it's too weak.
actually i think i need to download an updated bios rom. i was using 1.0.0 and not 1.2.1
Using a BIOS file with PCSX2 which you have downloaded from the internet or from a PS2 console you do not own is illegal. You must
own the console the BIOS file came from (even if it's broken) to be legal.
