Which has better general performance/compatibility?

I tried searching the forum and couldn't find anything asked within the last 2 years I also looked through the FAQ and stickied threads and didn't see anything.
1.2.1 has slightly better performance, but slightly lower compatibility.

Alright, thanks.
though, I do notice a increase in performance on some games on the development builds rather than the stable build. it depends on the game and the type of hardware, there are lot of other factors too. it's always better to try both of them and check which one offers the better performance.

This. I actually tested the other day, and in most games I got more performance with the latest GIT than with stable 1.2.1 (about 2 FPS).

I'm guessing some recent improvements have sped it up enough to offset the PGO optimizations that stable has.

I'm not going to pretend to know what a "PGO" optimization is but could they be applied to the latest dev build?
=( You didn't believe me when I told you that myself?

They aren't. PGO optimizations take a lot of time to do and are only applied to the stable builds.

I don't recall when you did lol

You didn't sound very certain
Quote:To begin, you can use either 1.2.1 or any of the latest github versions, found here http://pcsx2.net/download/development/git.html (I personally use the latest versions, the difference is that 1.2.1 is built with PGO optimizations, which should net ~10% more speed, but I don't believe this is true anymore).
@Bigbenn01 Oh I thought you were talking to me on that one. My bad.
