The pnach is exactly the same as txt but with different name(like ini or inf or c or h and so on),it's not different in any way from normal txt file.
If you can't open pnach file with notepad(which is impossible no not be able to open it)then that means the file you try to open is not really a pnach file

I have downloaded working pnach files from here and notepad cannot open them I have always had to convert the extension to txt to open.

ok this is weird now note pad opens the file but it opens it as File Name playstation.txt and its blank still not recognizing the cheat file though.

What exactly happens if you open notepad and drag-drop a working pnach into the program window?

I do not think its the files cause when i delete everything then recreat the cheat for ff12 it works fine but when i try to do dw4 cheats it cant find cheats for either game and i have to delete and start over. Also a working cheat file opened up fine. I hate code i swear i hit every glitch when i write code.

i tried to delete my comment above of the god of war 2 cheat,but it said i couldnt,so if a mod want to delete it,please go ahead.

i still cant get it to work,so i will very politely ask if someone can make a cheat for it,preferable infinite red orbs,since i dont have the time to harvest orbs for hours and hours.
its god of war 2,and it says God of War II (NTSC-U) [SCUS-97481] if that is the right code.
i have tried the pnach files i could find here in this thread,but it always say "no cheats found" etc

The pnach filename must be the same as your game CRC.
