Probably nothing you can do short of using your PS2 or getting a new PC.
Great now what?
Use your PS2.
ok ok fine
2 things about news
Bad news is use D3D11 (HW) was screen lag
Good news is use D3D11 (SW) was really no lag at all
your GPU is probably bottlenecking you in hardware mode.

Likely to be the game. CoD3 lagged for me in hardware mode too and I'm pretty sure a gtx970 isn't a bottleneck. I haven't given it a try in a long while though. So maybe I should test it to confirm. (the game was unstable either way when I last tried, would just crash a lot)
that game doesnt play well with hardware mode, youll have to stick with software mode for now Smile
I've change to Software Mode
