Full Version: Persona 4 issue

I've had PCSX2 version 1.4 for a while now, and finally came across an issue I'm hoping to get some help with.

Persona 4.. I've tried this two ways, running it as an iso and running it from the cd itself (I don't like running from the cd because my computer likes to randomly eject the cd drive, but I do do it for certain occassions) and both ways, I can not get the game to load past the initial checking memory card screen.. I'm not even at the intro video or start game or nothing, just checking memory card and it stays there (the funny part it's not frozen though because I still watch the fps go up and do some along with the speed on the toolbar, goes from 97% to 99% lol so it's not frozen)

I get this in the... uhmm not sure what screen to call it, but it shows I guess what it's accessing??
idk

It's this padman: *** VBLANK OVERLAP ***, I have never seen that before, it seems to be stuck there for whatever it is doing.

I've done some google searches for that error and people claim to get it while playing Rogue Galaxy, but nobody seems to know how to fix it (plus it's always with an earlier version of PCSX2.. like version .9 or so)

I'd really love to play this game again, does anyone know what this error means? or how to work around it?
Hmm... never seen that. P4 works great in PCSX2 for everyone usually.

Firstly since the padman thing is upset... what input plugin are you using?
Input plug in, I believe what your looking for is..

Lilypad (20151231175709)0.11.0 [lillypad]

Just in case, I also have to use the program Motion Joy to make my controller work with PCSX2 (or any other emulator I use) which is fine with other games I have played on here, most recently Xenosaga 1, 2, and 3
Lilypad should work fine so it's not that. Motionjoy sucks (it's spyware basically) but it works and doesn't interact with PCSX2 in anyway that would cause this.

Okay let's step back:

What are your system specs? PCSX2 settings? And can you please show the full emulog instead of just the partial one above?

Speed hacks and game fixes are currently turned off (I sometimes adjust depending on the game, but always start a game for the first time with them off)

and the log?? It's a lot of info, hope this is what you actually wanted.

Thank you so much for helpping me out..

just found the issue.. the memory card file was corrupt.. as soon as made some new memory card files and reformatted it, it now works.
No problem, enjoy!
