I'm a new user of this great emulator but my game (Top Spin) is very choppy and lagging. 

How do I correct this?

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.

• Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  
• The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  
• Any non default settings you are using.
  
• What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

Processor 2.22 GHZ
AMD A8-7410 with R5 Radeon Graphic
RAM 6GB
64 bit operating system     x64 processing

ISO Top Spin Tennis

The best you could probablky do is playing it on your PS2 console.
That CPU is far too weak to emulate anything on pcsx2
