Full Version: PSCX2 lag on tekken 5

Hello. I was recently offered a new computer, in which i was surprised it was running pcsx2 (bios) at 60fps (in my old pc it didnt go any higher than 20fps, 30% speed).I installed pcsx2 with the purpose of being able to play tekken 5, as my PS2 stopped reading disks, and tekken 5 was a game i used to play a lot with family and stuff. Surprisingly enough, the game was running fine, until after the loading "get ready for the next battle". After that, the whole thing is a lag fiesta, running at 30fps with 50% speed. When i looked in the task manager i noticed pcsx2 wasnt using all the PC cores, and it was only using about 30% of ram. is it possible to override this somehow so that maybe pcsx2 runs faster (i dont know much about this, noob here)? Or are there any other GFX plugins that i can test out?

Specs:
Acer Aspire ES 15 running

Windows 10 Home x64
PCSX2 1.4.0
Intel Pentium Quad Core Processor N4200 @1.10GHz
6GB DDR3 Memory
Unfortunately, your CPU is way too weak.
You have 4 cores, but each is very weak for pcsx2. Sorry for you
Your CPU is too weak. But you could try going to Config -> Emulation Settings -> Speedhacks, and enabling the MTVU speedhack, and see if moving the EE Cyclerate or VU Cycle Stealing sliders helps.
And make sure that (go to Config -> Video (GS) -> Plugin Settings) the Renderer is set to "Direct3D9/11 (Hardware)" (try both 9 and 11, one could be faster than the other) at no higher than "Native" Internal Resolution.
if i not mistaken Acer Aspire ES 15 is a i5-7200U....thus it's 2.5ghz....is it's nearly at 1800 STR number...but no nvidia or ATi

The CPU is mentioned in the post. Wink And that CPU only has an STR of 800+.

What would be the optimal CPU speed to run this game?
tekken needs roughly 4ghz¬.....unless that rig is able to run tekken 7 on steam.

That is just wrong. It really depends on the STR of the CPU and even the brand(AMD CPUs are not as fast as Intel CPUs). And with settings aimed towards lower-end systems you can run some more demanding games on weaker systems.
