NHL 2k8 for me only is running at about 35% to 40% speed (not menus where it's 90%+, but actual hockey game). My setup is not top notch (i5-4210H/GTX 960M/8GB RAM), other games like King Of Colosseum II, WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain, WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 are running maybe not at 100%, but are dropping below 90% very, very rarely and that is at 4x upscaling, while this game are running at 35% to 40% with original scaling... What I am doing wrong? I really miss hockey game...

not exactly top notch since your cpu's STR is a bit below 1900 (still quite a good one for pcsx2 anyways)
1 - try latest pcsx2 git build
2 - make sure your power plan is set to performance mode
Thanks, I tried the latest built and while it was faster (most of time between 45% and 50%) it's still not playable...
what do the ee% & gs% say when it's slow ?
EE are between 98% and 100% most of the time, while GS are between 70% and 80% most of the time...
I see. your CPU is clearly struggling.
since you have an NVIDIA GPU, maybe you should try ogl renderer. that could help
did you set your windows power plan to perfomance mode, just as advised ?

By that you mean OpenGL, if yes, then there were no performance/speed improvements, but GS values dropped a little bit (to below 70 most of time)...

I have it on balance, but I set it to performance and didn't see any difference...
If you enable MTVU, disable it, it slows down the game and can rarelly crash it (I have some experience with 2K10 where the trophy room crash on Xgkick, the usual MTVU problem).
