i tried downloading latest gsdx plugins from this site, but
then pcsx2 crashes, and says pls update to latest direct x
when using the plugins/dlls that came with the installer no probs.

The latest GSdx requires to have d3dx9_41.dll for DX9 and d3dx10_41.dll
If you really have the newest directx then you must have those two files inside your
C:\WINDOWS\system32
directory

The newest is from Match 2009

sometimes if you only add those files without install directx march 2009 properly in your system windows, probably you can get an error with pcsx2 program if you run it so you have to download and install that directx properly.
