Can I configure GSdx to software mode without needing to downloading the newest directx? I'm using a work laptop

I believe that we don't require it on windows 10 on latest dev builds.

DX is not part of the windows installation
You will have dx support but just a basic one(not the latest(which is really old)which gsdx require)
Look for a file named d3dx11_43.dll in C:\Windows\System32
If you don't have it,then you will need to install DX
