i suggest you tone down internal resolution and anisotropic filtering.
while your CPU isn't bad, your GPU won't cut it for high internal res + options like AA

Even with the original default settings, I still lag.

Yes, even software mode lags.

What do the ee% and gs% say when it lags ?

In between 43% and 47%.
