I feel like I'm losing my ever-loving mind, I have tried using the .pnach files from every region, I put them in the "cheats_ws" folder, I enable cheats and widescreen patches and the console just says "Invalid language identifier (wxID=0)", and when I start the game in 16:9 it's still stretched 4:3. I've followed every step I could find and nothing has worked.

Could you provide the emulog.txt? (It's inside the logs directory)
So we can see why the WS patch isn't loaded.

Also, provide the pnach you trying to use as well.
