Anytime I use Hardware rendering with a resolution above the base PS2 resolution, it gives me this really weird ghosty effect on everything

not sure if this could be considered a PCSX2 bug as it could just have to do with the game or the renderer but whatever.
I would really appreciate some help.

I have the same problem in Lego Star Wars. Hoping for an answer. Feel like I've tried every backend combo and I still get ghosting
