I'm getting these errors when trying to run Way of the Samurai:

Vif1: Unknown VifCmd! [3f]

I get past the intro but some point before the main menu the game hangs with several of the above errors.

Software mode doesn't help.

Running 1.7.0-dev-1504-g6d9d39d4c

does the EE timing fix under Config->Emulator Settings then Gamefixes help?

Yes it does! I get to the main menu with that enabled.
