Full Version: Footfall sound issues in Rule of Rose PAL
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Hi there. I have detected problems in the sound of the protagonist's footsteps in Rule of Rose, only in the PAL version. In the NTSC version the footsteps sound is reproduced correctly, however, in the PAL version the footsteps sound stops playing after a few seconds. Then the sound of footsteps comes back and then goes out again.

Tested on various versions of PCSX2 and on various computers.
Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

The sound seems to be fine on the latest development builds from what I can tell (although I'm using NTSC so maybe not the best ) but we have fixed a bunch of sound stuff since 1.6, please grab it from here: https://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/
I downloaded the latest build and the result is the same. It only fails in the PAL version.
You're right, not sure why that's happening, but it seems to just give up making footstep noises while you're running, then a second later starts doing it again, very odd.
Are you sure that doesn't happen on a real ps2? Watched some real system videos, and the steps sounds seem off on them, like this one which says it's running on a Spanish ps2:

well the step sounds are comical anyway, they don't match up with your feet, but on the EU one on the emu it plays like 3 footsteps, goes silent for 1 second or so, then plays 3 more footsteps, and so on. you can't really hear the footsteps at all in that video
Okay, thanks for proving you've never played this on a console Smile

One of our contributors has the game and recorded it running on his console for me, and guess what? the step sounds are broken there too.. You can watch it yourself https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/6...537859.mp4
