barely functions, 10-30% of normal speed, freezes after splash screen. thought it was my macbook not being powerful enough but i can run ps2 games on my phone (slow but not anything like this) so that makes me think maybe that isn't it. unless my pc is somehow worse than my phone ,, is this actually just a low end device thing or is there any way to optimize it?? sorry if this is unclear or an unnecessary question >_>

Macs are globally underpowered machines not made for intensive cpu tasks like emulation.
unless you have a recent one, you phone may run aethersx2 better than pcsx2

Our 2011 iMac managed just 42.66fps in the benchmark, but newer Macbooks, including the entry-level Macbook Pro, can hit around 77fps. Maybe it's old...
