Load from memcard, not savestate
Is there a workaround other than that?

It happens when I change Zones in FFXII, or when I change equipment. I don't want to lose my progress Sad
You won't lose it. You will just load from memcard instead of savestate
Update:
Not to undermine your suggestion, but I found a solution. The reason I am posting is for people who use savestat instead gamesaves(memcard), which is my case, I only game-saved like 2 minutes into the game, where my savestat is like 7 hours (used speedhack) .
What gave me the hint is because it crashed when I changed my weapon, which means it had to do something with my stats

It's a weird solution that I have no technical 'programming' explanation to.
What I had to do is I had to cheat using 0779FBDB.pnach. I can go in more detailed of what I have done, but at least enable one stat change to the character (ie strength/speed) and it will fix itself.

I was able to run into town again and use the game-save and it was successful. I will use more game-saves from now on but still, in the past I was able to use savestat with no problem. That was like 5-6 years ago.

Edit: Scratch that idea, my game gets frozen later on. No fix. I will have restart using memcard

which is a very bad idea.
If one day you play GT4, don't use them. you'll get surprised
I think you mean savestat is bad
i said use them if you want, but at your own risk. always use memcard saves first.
some games will literally destroy your memcard saves with savestates (like gt4)

Also, my game got frozen at some point, I will have to restart the game from scratch Wacko. My solution is wasted.
