hi I am a new user, trying to config PCSX2 for the first time.

I have an E8400 CPU at 3ghz, 2 gig ram gts 250 gfx card and latest windows 7 RC 7201

now when i try config i get this error message shown in the attached screen. Is there a problem because I run DirectX11?

Are you using the "Run as Administrator" option?

nope, what is that? I just installed windows 7..
also, why is pixel shader 3.0 greyed out when i select Direct10 hardware even though i have a graphics card supporting PS 3.0 and a direct10 card
Because in DX10 mode it is using Pixel Shaders 4 by default, you can't have DX10 and any lower pixel shader than 4 so no point in giving you the option to change that.
Update your directx with the web updater: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-E...ller.shtml
Before you ask,yes Win 7 needs it too.

So the greyed out thing is nothign weird right? Ah now when i ran as a adminstrator I fixed the first problem too Smile

so what is best for my graphics card, zerogs plugin or gsdx?
Most probably gsdx.

another problem is that i have an internal graphics card on my motherboard, you cannot disable it in bios, only set it to auto, 1MB or 8MB.

however my primary graphics adapter is gts 250, so PCS2X does not interfere with it right? When i checked my dxdiag in windows 7 i saw something weird.

look at total approx memory, my gfx card has 1024MB but here it is listed as 1779MB, does that mean my internal gfx card being used too?

that's just some extra system ram reserved for your graphics card. for my 512mb card it shows 3571mb total memory available Wink this "bonus" memory is way slower than the internal graphics ram, but you'll probably never need it, the 1024mb internal memory of your card is more than enough for current games.
I Had that error when i moved to W7 rc, you have to turn off UAC (User Account Control)
