I am trying to play the platinum FFXII [PAL] SLES-54354/P that i buyed some days ago, but for some reason my NEC 4550a doesn't detect it, tryed different programs to try making Iso, tryed running directly, tryed upgrading firmware, my PS2 isn't working so i can't test there, when put the dvd it lights up, after some seconds it makes some sound and it doesn't starts running/reading the dvd, doesn't happen all the other dvd, so is there anything i can do?
so there nothing i can do? does this mean that all pratinum have been made in special way that pc drives can't detect?
hmmm, well if the drive cant read it there's not much that can be done, have you tried reading it on another pc? maybe you'll get some luck on another drive.

i own the german platinum of ff12, but all my dvd drives recognise it without any problems. seems that your drive's the problem.
the strange thing is that only happen with this one game, the only pratinum i have.

well, if it doesn't have any visible defects or stains, then your drive doesn't seem to like this particular dvd Laugh i also own FFX and FFX-2 as platinum edition, both are recognised perfectly.
See if you can borrow a friend's PC to make an ISO or something.
Yeah I got 2 games my NEC drive wont read, also have a LG drive that doesnt read like 8 games from my collection also, but funnily it reads the ones the NEC drive wont read (a Lite-on drive I had before was able to read them all, but Lite-on drives tend to die fast which is why i didnt got it again and off with the off-topic >_>). Just hope it can be read somewhere else.
