could someone guide me on how to use the emulator? i've downloaded an .ISO file for a PS2 game but dont know how to run it on the emulator etc

i tried the 'open' options but it tells me i need a bios, and i dont know how to get a bios

Well your first mistake was not reading the rules. We don't support piracy here and since you've downloaded the game you won't get any help.
