Compatibility List suggestion
#1
hello

i have a suggestion for the Compatibility List

i tried flipnic pinball
which should be playable with 1.1.0
but after i tested it (pal and ntsc) it does not
(game loops when intro starts)

in the forum i saw that it was tested by a user with
a svn version and is now marked as playable on the list
http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Flipnic-S...7-U--30140

(its still working fine with latest svn)
but its not playable with official 1.1.0

here my idea for the Compatibility List :

how about adding
the build version to the Compatibility List ?
instead of "last update"

like:
version "1.1.0" build "svn 5622"
or
version "1.1.0" build "retail 5350"
if a game runs with retail 1.1.0 version

so its easier to see if a game runs fine with retail build or if u need latest svn version to run it

what u think about this ?

There is no retail 1.1.0. Pleae post the results in the public compatibility list, that's what it is for.

Make sure you read the stickies on how to post first.

oki not retail but "the latest stable version"
(or just version 1.1.0) for most users

seems you misunderstood my posting
i dont want to post a compatibility result
this was just an example

problem the current compatibility list
makes no difference between latest stable version 1.1.0 and svn 1.1.0 versions

when u read in the current Compatibility List:
game xyz is playable with 1.1.0
u dont see if the game works with latest stable 1.1.0 or if u need a svn 1.1.0 version

so my suggestion is to add the build number to the list

I see what you mean. Generally regressions dont happen a lot so its not overly worth adding the build to that, but the public list forum does provide us more details and helps us to resolve these regressions. Also it aids in support in situations like you mention.

Adding the build number would mean a lot of work.

hmm yep and i guess most people will try a svn version
by themselves if a game is marked as not fully playable with latest stable version

FYI, latest stable is 1.0.0
that's why there is no "1.1.0 stable release"
1.1.0 (whichever revision number it is) is always an svn for now
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go
