EE load versus cpu load question
#1
I'm currently playing WA5, the fps is steady at 60fps and the EE load is at 70-90%. When it reached 100% at some point, i took a look at my actual cpu usage and it was only at 25%.

So i was wondering if pscx2 was actually only using 1 core instead of 2.
Do i have to enable something in particular to get 2 cores running on pcsx2?

My specs are the following:
win7 sp1
i5-2500
hd5770
4gb rams

Pcsx2 settings:
pcsx2 0.9.8
gdsx plugin sse 4.1 - direct3d11 hw(picture says 10 though)
preset 1 - safest
Progam log show no error and can identify my hardware.

Ps. Sorry if that question as already been answered, didn't find anything related.

the answer is simple
pcsx2 will fully use 2 cores when they are needed
he is using 2 cores but not 100% of both of them

EE uses one dedicated core, GS uses one dedicated core. So if the bottleneck is the EE, and the GS has low load, then indeed you'll see mostly one core active.

That explains it, i though EE used 2 cpu cores and gs used the gpu.
But yeah, my EE is like 70-90% while my GS is aroung 1-15%.
Thanks for the quick reply.

GS does use the GPU once the CPU has finished preparing the batch for rendering.
