Choppy GamePlay Some games
#1
Hi all

I have read over a few threads and well i still cant come to a conclusion i was running with my old machine a intel core duo 2.66ghz with 4 gb ram and a 512 gfx Card and i was getting final fantasy 10 to work fine and then tenchu 3 and tekken 4 are playable but with a bit of chop every now and then and then games like ratchet and clank 3, tony hawks american waste land and need for speed most wanted just lagged up massively through the titles and intro movies is ok just once it got to the menu's and game play was just unplayable then i built another machine intel i5 2500 3.31 ghz,16 gb 1333 ghz ddr3 ram and 2gb DDR5 radeon hd 6950 GFX Card and everything is the exact same as it was on the old machine maybe a couple of frames extra p/sec every now and then heres the compiled data on my new machine

Now what am i doing wrong here i've tried some speed hacks ive tried lowering the graphic resolution but i dont notice any difference when i do so, ive spent money on a new machine i knew emulation was resource hungry but come on. hahaha.

Ive even deleted and then re downloaded pcsx2 and some of the games thinking that they were screwed but i dont believe so.

All my games are iso's too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

good.

about R&C series : that won't work well in hardware mode, you'll need to use software mode.
Set extra sw rendering threads to 3 to help a bit.
But don't expect miracles, since that will need something like a 5-6Ghz CPU to play full speed in software mode

About NFSMW : is it the 1st episode or the second ? Because the second is unplayable ATM whatever you do (in terms of speed). Maybe there have been some improvements in latest SVN, you'll have to try yourself.

About tony hawk : same. Try it on latest svn, but i guess you'll have a hard time according to this : http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Tony-Hawk...8-U--29558
As you can see, it doesn't have the "playable" status

In short, better play those games on your PS2 for now, until the emu improves and a better cpu is available
