GOW 2 slow as hell in GSdx SOFTWARE mode.

I think it all comes down to what game is being used, exemple Shadow hearts is working really nice on software mode.

What is your final filesize?
GSdx SVN 570: 953kb. It is not a debug version.

If I claimed I just jumped from the 15th floor, would you believe me? Of course he lies! 50 FPS on any game in software mode is... Blink
You can only play a few games at 50 FPS with a mediocre 2 core CPU and a good graphics card on hardware mode.. So, how do you expect software mode to bring up such speeds?!

It is possible to play SOME games in software mode at 50FPS (Kingdom Hearts II is a good example, runs great in software mode), but not GOW2.
I've only achieved 14 FPS in GOW software with 2 Threads and i'm in a core 2 quad 3.0Ghz.

If you get 40FPS with Software mode in GOW2 with a quad core at 3.0ghz and a 8600GT then there is something definitively wrong. I should be getting 70FPS then. Get real. Pcsx2 just use 2 cores, and I'm at 3.8ghz in a duo and my video card is a 9600GT that is much stronger than a 8600GT.

GSDX can use more threads in software mode. With a quad core you can dedicate 3 cores to GSDX. A Dual Core can only support one GSDX thread.

Hm, ok, thanks for clearing that out. Anyway 20-40fps still far from 50fps average that our friend claimed to get
