Good enough?

Hello everyone
I'm not new in emulation topics hovewer I tried some games with pcsx2 0.9.5 some times ago for example:
Suikoden III - was playing around 20FPS(WTF?) - terrible
Final Fantasy X - nice
Magna Carta Tears of Blood - some graphical bugs and around 25 fps(too slow to play)

I want to ask about Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 and pcsx 0.9.6
How it's working at this version at your pc? And how will it work at my pc? I mean will it be around 40 FPS? Because lower framerate won't be enough comfortable to play.

My PC Specs are:
AMD X2 4400+
GIGABYTE GF 8600GT 256MB GDDR3
2GB DDR 667
Thx in advance

Between old 0.95 and 0.96 give me few more fps for me in specific games. Game sukoden III demand higher clock dualcore cpu for playing in decent speed. For your specs if OC is not an option i suggest you to play pcsx2 emulation in OS Vista, set native res or 800x800 in internal 3d3 res on gsdx plugin. Try speed hacks and vu skip. Try with varios gsdx plugin to seek better fps for your game.

2,2Ghz is not that fast for emulating and since it doesn't support SSSE3 and/or SSE4.1 you won't get some extra boost, Suikoden 3 is really heavy on cpu, for exemple even with 3.0Ghz i need to check EE x3 Cycle rate to get 60fps, so my advice is for you to get latest pcsx2 installer, and check speed hacks EE x3 Cycle rate, IOP x2 Cycle rate, Wait Cycle Syncand change clamp mode to none on advance options.

it's 2,35GHZ not 2.2 Smile
So how much fps i can get around? 30? And will that be enough to play it without so much slowdowns?
And whick CPU starts to support SSSE3 and/or SSE4.1?

There between hope and fact, you can not see unless you try it. Ssse3 and sse4 features for Cpu C2D/C2Q EXemple E6xxx/E8xxx series.

Yes, it will slower then my 2.33Ghz non overclock since C2D is faster clock for clock against X2 and also because you will have to use SSE2, you probably get between 20-50 NTSC but just make a iso of your dvd and test it.

Hah I have all time 42+ fps and during battle 45-80 So I guess it's playable Laugh
the only problem is mix screen after battle in Gsdx, in zerofrog it's not a problem but it is slower

Zerofrog and Gsdx works differently for everyone. Some find Gsdx better, while others find Zerofrog better. Zerofrogs is about the same in most games for as Gsdx yet, I use Gsdx because I believe i get better frame rates in alot more games in it.
