Frame rate issue FFX
#1
hello everyone!
I have question about frame rate in FFX.Sometimes it drop on 35 when is little crowded on screen. Then ingame speech is also hit by that.Im using latest version 0.9.6,Gsdx SSE 2.0 graphic plugin, native resolution. Also i set speed hack x2,and vsync on,all other options are on default.I have winXP SP3 all up to date included dx9.
Config is Phenom II 940 clocked to 3.8 ghz,Gtx295,4 GB of ram.
Is there any way to improve to stay locked on 60 fps without frame drops?

Build PCSX2 using SSE3, turn off speed hacks, turn off Vsync, use the frame limiter option in Cpu and limit to 50/60 FPS if you're playing PAL/NTSC. Make sure you're using hardware.

Unfortunatly,SSE3 is only for Intel processors.I used ur advice and indeed frame rate is improved, but now sometimes drop to 40 fps.I guess this is because of emulator.Still beta.I see u have i7.Do u have frame drops?

I don't xperience this any version of the emulator. I have all of the versions, betas, compiled and official, and none of them do this unless your referring to a version berfore 9.4 which i doubt you are.

Well, according to this: http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/vie...cid=2&pg=2 the Phenom II 940 supports MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and SSE4a.

No I don't get drops, FPS goes from 49.92 - 50.08, a 0.08 difference up and down a lot, but nothing more than that.

hehe,i know it does support, but tell that to the team behind epsx2 emulator, they obviously don't know that Smile.Epsx2 emulator claims that only intel procesors are supported by those instructions when i put plugin sse3 or sse41.It drops error message "This cpu does not support SSE3".

There is different between ssse3 (intel) and sse3 (AMD). Dont miss eyes.

That's what I was gonna say, make sure you're not trying to do SSSE3 which yours doesn't support.

What plugin gsdx you are using? Or you can try gsdx.v594 0.1.14 in software mode with 3/4 SW thread for your quadcore.
