@OP : what do the EE% & gs% say whnen you get slowdowns ?
did you try enabling MTVU hack ?

MTVU Hack made no difference

EE% is usually at around 30 - 40%, even during slow downs
Highest i have seen it go is 60% during a 6 man hell in a cell

GS% is usually around 10%, never seen it go higher than 30%

Thanks for your help

Some more information if its of any use

When dips occur, the EE% also drops. EG: 50fps to 40fps, EE% also drops from 60% to 40% at same time
Appears to be some sort of link

And not sure if this makes any difference, but im using a Xonar DG sound card

Cheers

Then something outside of PCSX2 is causing you to slow down.

What are your CPU temps like that the dipping points? what is the top level they hit? Id suggest using CoreTemp to get the temps as that logs the maximum temp and minimum.

Start it before you start the emu and take the screenshot of it after you come out of a slowdown.

Hmm, could it be the fact that im running it off a external HDD?
The hdd is usb 3.0, so i thought it would have been fast enough....

I will try it on my internal drive, and report back

Thanks for the help everyone

FIXED: Turns out the USB 3.0 External was causing it

Moved the files to a internal drive, and lag gone

Thanks everyone!
