Yes! I got a visiontek and it overclocks very well. But for pcsx2 you probably won't need to overclock, for regular gaming it definitely helps!

Hey guyz....i have got another problem.....i was going to buy xfx Nvdia 9600 GT..but dealer suggested that to buy Nvdia 220 GT becoz 9600 GT is not available near my city....should i go with nvdia 220 GT

one more question---if i stick on to the 9600 GT and buy it from out of my state or from ebanking....should i take XFX brand or PALIT brand.....for pc games as well

becoz palit looks cheap than xfx....is there any diffrence in performance...............

You'd be better off buying something like a 9600gt or so and buying a really nice cooler for your CPU and overclocking it a bunch. Unless, of course, you want to play at super internal resolutions (but theres no point, since after 2048x2048 you cant really tell a difference, and my old 8800gt and 2.4ghz q6600 hold their own on a few games at that res).

no point eh?

Some of us are running resolutions above that for daily usage! 30" monitors are like that, if you're not running at high resolutions the picture quality sucks.

Anyway, for 1920x1080 and a high scaling setting (3x or above) even a gtx 280 wasn't enough.

The 5870 I have now is awesome for PCSX2, 120-200fps with 2560x1440 internal resolution and 3x scaling and FULL texture filtering enabled!

On normal DX10 games I only noticed a moderate performance bump from the old gtx280 but on PCSX2... !
Incredible performance on PCSX2, definitely get it if you don't want to worry about gpu performance being a bottleneck.

Actually, scaling scales the native resolution, not the numbers you put in the boxes.
AMD Athlon II 245 @ 3.55ghz, 9600GT @730mhz 1115mhz, vista sp2 32bit
