Could it be that it's a bad ISO rip?
I have the original disc at the other place I live, and will be heading back there in a few days.
I used Imgburn to make the ISO. I know that Linux has something called "PowerISO". Can PowerISO be used to rip a functional PS2 game image?

imgburn will be better
if you want to rule this out, you could still try using directly your original disc, though

Will do. Where do I get the CD/DVD plugin that lets me run it off an external drive? The one included in the emulator is labeled "null" which I assume is just a placeholder that does nothing.
EDIT: I remember the one in Linux has a "null" plugin. I just noticed that the Windows version actually has one. Where would I get a plugin for the Linux version?

Just for the curiosity, can you try to boot the game with the EE set to interpreter + cache enable?

I'm still at the residence where I use my underpowered Windows 7 PC. When I try to boot the game with the EE set to interpreter + cache enable, the emulator runs at a snail's pace, as low as 10% and maybe even lower. Also, all the fans in my computer started going off like crazy, so I won't be doing that again since this is the only working computer I have here.
Anyway, I got the same result as before, but in slow motion. Here are the console results:

Ok, can you send us a Blockdump of the game? To do so, open PCSX2, then goes to the debug section and enable "create blockdump". After that, start the game until it crash then close PCSX2 and you should get a .dump file in the PCSX2 folder. Upload this file in a network storage server (such as Google Drive) and put the link here.

(This post was last modified: 06-30-2018, 01:08 AM by NERV Agent.
Edit Reason: Got it to work?
)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/u1rhjz94dd...17%29.dump
UPDATE: I just looked through the ".dump" file in Notepad, and saw something about Nero Burning ROM.
Then I remembered that a long time ago, before I got my modchip, I did a softmod that required converting CD games to DVD format using Nero Burning ROM.
When I ripped the ISO a few weeks ago, I just grabbed a burned disc of that game from my storage boxes, assuming it was in its original format.
However, I am checking the ISO I have now, and it is ~500 MB, which leads me to believe the ISO I have now was previously a CD that I converted into DVD format a long time ago (and forgot about).
When I return to my other place of residence, I'll have to dig through more storage boxes and containers to find the original disc (it was bundled with a Zone of the Enders game).
SECOND UPDATE:
So I tried the reverse method of converting the DVD ISO back to CD format. The website with the instructions cannot be found anywhere today, not even on Google cache or Wayback Machine. So I've uploaded it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/xf8ar5cevy...ctions.zip
As I said, I did the reverse process by turning the DVD back to CD, but when it got to the part about using DVD Scanlite, I had to choose the CD option, NOT the Restore option.
I loaded the new ISO into the PCSX2 1.5.0, and I was able to get to the title screen!
Because I'm on an underpowered PC, I can't play test the game to see if there are any bugs. The fans on this PC started going off like crazy just getting to that title screen.
But I can't wait to get back to my Linux PC at my other residence and finally try out this emulator!

Just finished playing this on my Linux rig. Here's some bugs I noticed:
* When it's raining, the game slows down and even the audio glitches out. During the cutscene where Otacon gives you a tutorial for the controls, his dialogue glitches out. The fight with Olga is still playable, but if you get caught in Alert mode out in the rain, the game slows to a crawl and becomes unplayable.
* Screen tearing, although that might be on my end.
I don't know where I should post this info, but I hope it helps in developing future versions of this emulator.
