I'm playing this with an E8400 @ 3.7Ghz with 2 cores.
I get full speed in 95% of the time and just below full speed in the rest.
Now with MTVU on a quad, you can reasonably say you still need ~3.2Ghz
for the same result.

How much is the price of that Q6600? Also, why are you buying an earlier or older series of the socket 775 quadcore CPU when you can get the Q9xxx series. They are better in all aspects compared to the Q6600. It's almost like owning a Core i series if you have proper hardware. Of course, this is strictly speaking only for PCSX2.

With my rig & a GTX470, I get significant slow downs. Q6600's rarely go over 3.3GHZ, some can hit 3.6, and the very rare ones can go 3.8, but you're more likely to hit the lotto these days.

Then an is I7 far better. You can clock them as high as 4.9Ghz.
