Merged all 4 (!!!) threads..really 'Some pages are out of date' covers all 4.

I think there needs to be a linux section, to sort out windows users from linux ones

I agree. We need a section for all 6 of us linux users lol.
The compile guide pretty much covers all the main issues. I'll expand it once I get some time, but it's enough to get most people up and running.

That's the result my HTML Validator extension gives me whenever I visit the site. I'll point out that on line 200 you just need to change & to &. If you want I can create my own error free version of the site shell which you can port the content to (I'll even do it in a backward compatible XHTML5 format with Mozilla's new Content Security Policy supported) although I have a better site shell type for any resolution & browser.
