I almost have Metal Gear solid 3 Subsistence running fine except for the low FPS (20-30) in the grassy regions. The slowdown happens ingame and in cutscenes when there is fire too. Here are my settings. I have a:
Intel Q6600
4GB Ram
2x 8800GT
32 bit Windows Vista
I have read alot of message boards and see that some [eo[le have almost full speed all game.
I'm using your 0.9.6 build with these settings:
Gsdx 890 MSVC 15.00 SSSE3 0.1.14
1024x768 60hz
DX10
Pixel Shader 3
no interlacing
4:3
D3D internal
NLOOP hack is gray ticked
Texture filtering is on
Tha advanced options I have set to defaults.
The speedhacks I set to 2x cycle rate with Enable IOP 2x cycle rate and Waitcycles rate sync ticked.
Thanks!

I uninstalled my version and downloaded the one you recommended; I still have problems but could you explain which speed hacks I should use since I believe turning everything on causes a crash.

I am going to build a new PC soon with an i7 and try and get it clocked to 4GHZ (if i can get the heat under control) so i wanted to ask anyone here how MGS3 performed under hardware and software modes. I will most likely be using Windows 7 by then,

I read somewhere that software rendering should take care of the glitches but runs much slower. Are you able to run it in software mode?
