You can try for now use earlier versions of pp. I was using an earlier version with the round mode hack, and played upto first meeting Professor Sokolov without experiencing any problems and FMV cinematic and ingame cinematic worked fine. My less than sufficient e6600 (for this game) and slow fps prevented me from wanting to play further.

You can use the last PP versions, to get correct video playback disable IOP x2, latest PP versions more precious cause earlier versions had control errors with X3 hack enabled, which generosly speeds game up)) BTW subsistence version can be saved on memcard, but Snake Eater can be played by using savestates only

Its like 20 FPS on 3.5Ghz in PAL Subsistance
